Ines Emertasol - Home
2022 | ES-007 | Edition of 10
Ines Emertasol's Home Serigraphy explores the ambivalence inherent in the concept of home. For many, home is seen as a place of retreat and family - a perspective that holds validity. However, this interpretation also has a darker side, which Emertasol effectively conveys through her thoughtful choice of motifs and color distortions.
Home can also be understood as a site where patriarchal power structures and neoliberal projection fantasies are exposed. Within this framework, Emertasol examines the function of the familial interior and the projected exterior, exploring the tensions in which vulnerable individuals - particularly women and children - may find themselves struggling to secure their own place.
This serigraphy is a multi-layered print, designed and created by Ines Emertasol. It is printed on high-quality, uncoated 10"x10" paper manufactured by Munken. Each print is hand-numbered, and the edition is strictly limited to 10 pieces. As all prints are handmade, they differ from one another due to the screen printing technique used. Therefore, no two prints are identical - each piece is unique.
